Go211.com is the leading online destination for extreme sports created by and for action sports athletes and enthusiasts. Go211.com is a vibrant community of professionals and fans, and is home to exclusive live webcasts of more than 100 action sports events a year, including the Burton US Open of Snowboarding.

Challenge

Live event webcasts and rich community features are two of the most important elements of Go211.com’s brand identity. Their audience is young, hip, and extremely mobile and they wanted a mobile service that was true to the Go211.com brand. To achieve this, they needed a provider who could deliver live streaming video to mobile and match the depth and breadth of features on their broadband desktop service.

Solution

Azuki stepped in with a solution that met all of Go211.com’s needs for a rich mobile destination. Launched with 18 hours of live event streaming at the 2009 Burton US Open of Snowboarding, Go211.mobi became the first mobile site to offer live video for any streaming-capable device without requiring any application download or installation. For those whose devices do not support streaming, a unique near-live instant replay interface is provided to watch event coverage in on-demand format. Moreover, Go211.mobi is now an integrated part of the broader Go211.com community as mobile users can blog, comment, rate and share media much like their counterparts on the broadband site, and interactions flow in both directions between desktop and mobile.
